Today I had to pull some relays and they were a pain in the ****. I've had a relay pliers on my wish list for a while now but haven't pulled the trigger since it's not something I would use much. But after today they are going on the next tool purchase!

Looks like there are two styles, ones that grab under the relay and ones that grab the corners of the relay.

The lisle ones here grab in the slots or under the relay, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002NR2Z56/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Here's the OTC ones that grab the corners of the relays, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000IHM224/?tag=atomicindus08-20.

Is one style better then the other? Does one style fit in between the relays better then the other? Some of the relay boxes can be tight.

I have the Lisle pair. They work well, with two issues....

1. Squeeze to tight & you will crack the relay housing.
2. The thin grips that are on the handles are sleeves & not dipped. They pull off very easily & you have to continually slide them back on.

Other than that, they work great.

Tool topia shipped is cheaper then just the cost of the tool at that amazon link.

Only problem is ToolTopia has them listed as "Out of Stock."

Never knew there were Relay Pliers. Would've made life MUCH easier when I was learning/troubleshooting old transfer switches that had a whole mess of relays crammed together.
