I just picked one of these up. Can I just wrap it around the wire coming from my meter/Disconnect right before it does into my service panel?or do i need to wrap it inside the service only on one power line?

Also Forgive My 200 Amp service has two neutral bars running down the side and I believe the ground bar is the one at the bottom of service.

I am not an electrician obviously but I would rather not pay someone to do this, I can shut my hole panel down from the Disconnect which I would when working in there.

The white lead gets wrapped around one of the service entrance wires from the meter or main disconnect

the green wire goes to the ground bar.

However, a main service panel typically does not have a ground bar because the neutral bar is bonded.

Do you have a disconnect before this panel?

Can you post some pictures of your meter, disconnect, and what youre calling your service panel and post them here.

Here are pictures of the three you asked for, the 4 the pic shows service wire from disconnect to panel and the smaller grey wire goes from 200 service in house to 100 amp service in shop.

So the panel in the house is NOT the service panel. It is a subpanel because there is a disconnect ahead of it.

Wrap the wire around one of the incoming service entrance wires in the disconnect or the feeder hot leg going to the breaker in the subpanel.

That's fine. The alarm is not meant to be installed outdoors anyway.

You should have all of the neutral wires connected to the neutral bar(s). The neutral bar(s) should not be bonded to the panel enclosure. All of the ground wires should be connected to a ground bar, which should be bonded to the panel enclosure. The incoming cable that feeds the panel should have 4 conductors: 2 hot legs that connect to the 200A breaker, a big neutral wire that connects to the neutral bar, and a big ground wire that connects to the ground bar.

The panel in the shop should be wired the exact same way.

Most panels have a metal strap that you can clearly see going from the neutral bar to the enclosure, but I believe Square D does things a bit different. I'm not too familiar with them, but I believe they have a green screw located somewhere on the top of the neutral bar that bonds it. You'd have to make sure that screw has been removed. Might wanna Google search images for the location of it.

The main disconnect right next to the meter is considered to be your "main" breaker panel: It's a breaker panel (it has a breaker in it), it's the first one installed right after the meter, and everything else is connected downstream of it. It just happens to have only one circuit breaker in it. All breaker panels connected downstream of the main breaker panel are, by definition, subpanels. So yes, both panels in the house and shop are subpanels.

So if I open up the Main panel by meter should there be a neutral and a ground in there? Bonded to the housing?

Okay so i opened up my 200 amp panel, down each side I have a neutral bar that appears to be mounted on plastic with the white wires going to them.
On the right side near the edge I have a ground bar attached to the case with a big ground wire going to it and then normal ground wires.
On the bottom of the panel I have another ground bar attached to the case, that may have my other panel in the shop hooked to it but I am not sure, not much is hooked to it. This is the one I hooked the control box ground to, I did have to extend it a little bit with a piece of wire I had here.

I had a knock out on the top of the panel that only had one ground wire running though it so I put the control box wires though it. Is this okay to do? The box works but I noticed it drained my 9 V battery very quick.

I have not checked the shops box yet.

Being that my Panel in my home is a Sub Panel as the one in the shop, I have a Generator connected to my 200 AMP Sub in my home, Do I want to Float my neutral on my Generator?
