I'm soon to be the new owner of a Porter Cable 80 gallon 175 PSI 7 HP compressor, however before I can use it I need to relocate it from 4 hours away.
There is a chance I'll need to make this trip myself, and I'm not sure how much or what kind of help I'll have at the pick up location. My plan is to drain the oil and remove both the compressor and motor from the tank.
Question for those that may be familar: Besides the standards (screwdrivers, socket set, wrenches) am I going to run into anything funny that will require special tools on the Porter Cable to get this done? Best to know now rather than 4 hours from home.
Based on what I've researched the entire compressor probably weights around 480 pounds. My guess would be that the actual compressor weights about 100 pounds, the motor probably weights 60 to 100 pounds, and the rest is the tank, does this seem about right?
Thanks in advance,
Hans
