Haven’t filed a report but will go by Albuquerque Pawn tomorrow, at least 1/2 the customers are our boys in blue to see what they say. I finally got a line on a roller base to match and this s#$t happens. Aargh!

What did you find for a roller? Any leads on your missing box yet?

No leads. Pawn shops feel like that’s a big big part of their business and the cops have way bigger criminals to deal with. When I moved here 30+ years ago had all my jeans stolen off the clothes line so I should know better as Albuquerque has only gotten worse.
Bone head mistake on my part.

I don't think I need any more drawers...
I might actually get a smaller top box if one ever turns up.

Oh, and some day I might convert the roller to rem line if I find an easy way to swap handles.

Spotted a Remline A-30 two drawer insert New Old Stock on ebay. Had really high hopes that no one else would notice it, but to no avail. Someone wanted it really bad as they definitely paid. Hope at least it went to someone here on the forum.

lafester, I don't have that prob with the bottom drawer, Your guess is probably correct on something being behind it.

That's pretty cool but I still don't see how they attach to the roller. If the frame is missing that is wasted money... Oh, wait the second drawer appears to have a box inside. Would love to see what is in that box along with the instruction sheet.

Maybe the new owner will show up here.

I was just thinking I would prefer the 7 + 2 drawer over the 10.

It was complete as I contacted the seller when I first spotted it. The box with the hardware in the drawer is still sealed up. I got ninja'd in the last 5 seconds. Bummer

I'm not using it at the moment, and I'm not a collector so it will probably move on. I do like how it looks next to the beat up old Craftsman.

I have been told that this is a Remline. Can anyone confirm or give me any information on it? Thanks

Found this on E-bay this morning. I probably paid too much at the buy it now price, but with 5 other watchers I didn't want to lose it. I think it will go good with my old stack.

Got my Rem-line Side rider cabinet, unfortunately Fed-Ex damaged it in shipment. Not too bad though managed to hammer out the dented corners and straighten the door. Now stripped sanded and primed. Ready for paint.

Picked this up yesterday at an estate sale for $35. Fully functional with no dents but a lot of surface rust. I think it was left outside. Top unit stamped 1960. I think the bottom is older - no date stamp. I'll leave it like it is and use it for now.

My wife, who loves this kind of stuff - lucky me - , helped me pull all the drawers and give it a thorough cleaning.

Very nice find! The bottom is actually newer than the top. I have the same top box. If you decide to do a full restore let me know if you need any advice.

Thanks! I've been searching for a good box for a while. These old school ones are better and sometimes cheaper than newer ones and they sell fast. Based on your beautiful restore job I'd love to do mine at some point.

This resto came out fantastic. I've always loved that "Remline man" badge on your lower cabinet. Great job.

Picked up this 12 drawer top chest today. I will remove the stickers and clean it and put it to use! I wasn't even aware they made a 12 drawer top chest but here it is... I also cant believe sears never sold a AMD/craftsman version as opposed to the 10 drawer with that big drawer that isnt super helpful. This box is really straight aside from the stickers, broken handles and a few screw holes in it...I will give it some love and put it to use! Anyone know how old this is? Is that the date code under the logo on the front drawer ? There is nothing stamped behind the drawer like the older amd made ones

Smokes, great get. Love Remline, have considered a few, but they were all so thrashed. I enjoy rolling up my sleeves for a nice resto, but a tool box repaint -so it's done right with wet sanding between coats, is tough sledding. Can't wait to see your results, not that I'm saying that one needs a full repaint.

Thanks Hoon! This one is nice enough it wont get a repaint...most of the stickers will go bye by and then a nice coat of this cool new stuff I got for my old truck- Patina Sauce...mixture of blo, and a few other things... it makes things look amazing. My old truck looked really good when I sold it.

For anyone that might need these. 18 dollars on ebay, I already scooped up the drawer handles.

I was able to get my hands on this stack, which while not mint, is about 95% of the way there:

PXL_20210730_060813144.jpg

After some cleanup and lubing the slides, I think it looks pretty nice and i have zero regrets about dropping a couple hundred for it. I had been looking for a nice Remline in this style for a long time, and this one ticked all the boxes (no pun intended) and then some.

Side rider cabinet all finished. Got the correct period handles installed. Just waiting on the wife to recreate the Rem Line tag.

Swiped this off of FB Marketplace today. Guy had a newer Craftsman stack he was selling and this was in the middle. I asked if he would part with just the intermediate box, and he said yes.
Still needs to be cleaned up, but it's got the key! :rocker:

For anyone that needs it, I was recently able to get keys for mine off eBay. There's a seller, gkeez-com, and he was able to cut the keys for me. Keys were even stamped 'Made in USA', a nice bonus. He didn't have a listing for the exact codes listed on my lock cylinders, but I sent him a note and he confirmed he could get them.

I thought the price was pretty reasonable and I like being able to keep the original lock hardware.
