On my house, I have several flood lights controlled by a switched circuit (switch is inside the front door). These flood lights are used to illuminate the driveway for occasional nighttime vehicle work and for vehicle/trailer maneuvering (backing my enclosed trailer off the street and down the driveway, etc.).

I don't want to leave these lights on all the time and instead I want to use them only when needed. Is there a way to turn on these lights wirelessly from my vehicle so I don't have to back the trailer down a dark driveway or leave the truck/trailer on the road while I run in and turn the lights on? I would also like to maintain the functionality of the switch at the front door.

Thanks for your help!

I am currently using a remote controlled switched outlet on my patio lights in the back, it works great!!!

Not too expensive and you can carry the remote anywhere!!!!
Ya might need to rig an outlet connection to the circuit since the lights are hardwired.
I have never seen a wall switch that is remote controlled, but I think they do make them.

OH, look!!!! Here's one! http://www.northshorecommercialdoor.com/skweonwalisw1.html

I was looking for a simple remote for the exterior Xmas lights and passed on several that were $20-25. Then last night I found a very sturdy, outdoor-rated set with a short pigtail box and a decently made keychain remote... for $7, at Target. I may pick up one or two more for general use throughout the year, and it might be a fast, cheap solution for the OP here as well.

There appear to be multiple channels available - check for a frequency or channel number (mine is "4") if you want to use more than one.

Menards sells one for $10.00. Can turn on and off up to 3 lights. Works great!

I've also seen these at my local true value hardware store think they were on sale for 7.99 if my memory serves me correct.

I have one of those. I don't see how he can have his switch too unless he leaves the switch on all the time and carries the remote with him. What he's really trying to do is have a 3-way with one operated by a remote.

Or as mentioned above, a switch with this remote function onboard.
