I have 3 36w x 58h high windows that need remote controlled blinds. The trouble is, there is no power or outlet near these. To change batteries will be near impossible and a PITA. Has anyone had any luck with solar powered?

Last year, we had two battery operated blinds; one in the dining room and one in the kitchen. The batteries stay charged for quite a while, and when they need charging, we plug in a wall wort that came with them. We charge them overnight, though it doesn't take that long. Of course, the plugin is at the top, behind the blind.

The problem in our case is the windows are pretty high to change the batteries would be a PITA.
I edited the original post to add a picture of the windows.

doesnt look that terrible. twenty minutes with a little giant type ladder and you'd be done. maybe what 16' to the top? not a huge deal. slide the couch out, know em out, slide the couch back.

or, if thats too much work, then im sure the solar powered ones would work just fine.

We powered operated blinds in our living room, four eight foot tall windows. They are battery powered each using eight AA lithium type batteries each. When opened they generally go to a predetermined location about seventy five percent open. These windows are not opened everyday, probably three to four days a week. The batteries last approximately six months. Would definitely get them again.

Powered blinds can be expensive. If you can figure out the "charge the battery" issue, I would strongly suggest you check out the IKEA blinds that are Homekit compatible. Their blinds start at $150 and I believe they have a 36" version in blackout material and a weave that lets some light through. Perhaps you can go this direction and order extra batteries so you can go up there to swap one battery pack for another - i do understand that is a pain.
