I've done a lot of home automation and I've never seen a wired stand alone temp sensor. Plenty of sensors that will wire to a thermostat, but you also need a stat capable of accepting a remote sensor. The 824 does both.

Remote Temp Sensor, Ethernet Connected?

It’s still working fine. Had a strange hiccup about a week ago, where the app indicated it had lost connectivity with the WiFi, yet it continued reporting and recording data. It was caused by our internet going down. When it came back, the Govee came back on line ok and resumed reporting, but I was left with a gap in the data. I cleared the false “no WiFi” indication the next day simply by going into settings and reconnecting to the WiFi. (You have to do this locally, because it uses Bluetooth for settings access. ) When I did this, I noticed that the “save settings” (or maybe it was “save password”) box wasn’t checked, so maybe that was operator error.

Lascar Electronics has a bunch of remote, data logging temperature sensors.
A couple years ago we lost our fridge and after our 2yo fridge's compressor went out, I ordered this:

Not the thing you're specifically asking about, but it logs to the cloud plus has local alerting capabilities. Now, there's no guessing if something is going wrong inside the fridge and if it goes **** up before we notice, we can tell how warm it go to know how much we need to throw away, 20 minutes vs 10hrs of 45F+ for instance.

There are certain models of Honeywell that connect to the Internet via an Ethernet Gateway. From the Redlink Gateway it communicates to the thermostats and other sensors using a proprietary (not WiFi) wireless signal. Maybe that might work?
I installed the Honeywell Redlink systems in 2 houses many years ago. I chose them because back then WiFi disconnects were frequent and troublesome. I could picture having to send a neighbor to a remote house asking them to reboot etc. I certainly didn't want that. The Redlink thermostats have been absolutely reliable and never lose communications with the Redlink gateway that is connected to my router via Ethernet.
But recently I wanted to use reuse my Redlink thermostats in a rebuild of one of those houses. The HVAC installer said Redlink is going away (obsolete) and the new WiFi Honeywells are very reliable. We shall see. The project is not done yet. I'm holding on to my Redlinks in case he is wrong.
Also I have a remote temperature sensor linked to the system. It reported temperature in a crawlspace. It can email temperature alerts. Very handy. I suspect the new stuff does that too. Also runs on the Honeywell APP and google Home App.

For the price, that's a pretty versatile gadget - a bit more than I need, though. Glad you posted it - could come in handy for a future use. I did end up buying the Govee remote temp sensor off Amazon, it was about $35. It's been reporting temp and humidity data over wifi for over a week now, no hiccups. It's been reassuring to know my furnace is working while I'm away.

It is very versatile. I want to be able to monitor the 2 freezers full of food that I have as well as the temperature of the house. The price is a bit steep. Especially for this of us in Canada. But if I would catch one frozen water line or one freezer not freezing anymore it would pay itself off quite quickly.
