Remote/wireless controlled lights?

Ok, so my situation:

My house is located ~100' from my house.

We don't have any internet yet and who knows what we'll get. Live in the boonies. It'll be satellite of some sort.

Anyway, I'd like to be able to control the exterior lights on the shop from the house and/or via a phone if I could.

Short of running a hardwired switch anyone have any thoughts?

x-10 home automation works . some people have better luck than others. I have had decent results . not 100% reliable but it's a reasonably inexpensive way to go .

After some research, the SkylinkHome stuff looks like it might work. 300'+ range.

Current major standards for consumer lighting control are UPB, Insteon, Z-Wave, and wifi (WiMo). Only way I can think of doing remote control without internet would be a cellular gateway assuming you have service.

Do you have to have individual control of the lights. Could you use a timer or a photocell
