Remove Rust While Keeping Logo

I've been using the vinegar and salt method to remove rust from some old tools and it works pretty well.

I just picked a cool vintage Mercury vise that has a nice color logo many of you have seen before.

What is the best method to de-rust the vise while keeping the logo intact?

I was thinking about using the blackstrap molasses and water method but I thought I would ask you guys first.

I have seen many posts here and on other forums about Evaporust but I have never used it.

Do you think this has an advantage over vinegar or molasses for the purpose of keeping the logo intact?

Is it a better rust removing method than the other two I mentioned?

It looks like there isn't much (or any) rust on/around the logo area. Try Bullfrog Rust Remover. It's a thick gel that you can apply to only the rusty parts, rather than fully submersing it. I haven't seen anyone else here mention it. It's significantly stronger than Evaporust, but also more expensive.

It looks like the Bullfrog Rust Remover is a popular product on the gun product sites. It looks to be fast acting - even faster than Evaporust.

Molasses is much slower acting. I just wanted to be sure that if I submerge this it won't hurt the paint.

I have been using vinegar and salt and it took the plated finish right off of a big hasp I had soaking for about 10 days (I forgot about it).

I won't be starting this vise in anything until later this week so I am still open to considering the best plan.

I appreciate the input so far.
