Thinking of getting a MaxJax lift for my garage. Currently have a Racedeck floor so assume I need to remove a few tiles from the floor and drill my holes for the posts. Anyone done this, how did you finish it to look good? How do you pop these tiles out of the middle of the floor?

Thanks!

Hi
Removing RaceDeck tiles from within your floor area is pretty easy. Use a putty knife or a thin flat head scewdriver...then slide it inbetween the tiles where the locks are and push the male side of the lock in. What you are doing is compressing it so it disengages from the other tile( loop side ) see full install video where it is done as well http://www.racedeck.com/install.html

If it is a four post lift, you can place it on top of the floor. If not, you can easily trim the flooring around the post for a clean finished look.
call if you have any questions

Thanks Jorgen, I will check out the video on removing the tiles.

The post will be part of the Maxjax 2 post portable lift. With this lift, you drill the holes in the concrete and then the post can be installed or removed and rolled away for storage. Guess what I was asking is if anyone else using the lift with Racedeck has found a way to cover that space so you aren't pulling up those tiles everytime you want to install the lift.

What about removing the lock from those specific tiles so they are easy to pull up? You could even use a dremel to notch one tile so that a screwdriver could easily get under it and lift up. That way when you want to use the lift it takes 10 seconds to remove the tiles, and when you are done you don't have an unsightly hole there.

Good idea - You would only need to remove half of the lug portion of the lock so it would not engage
