My wife and I purchased a new house and I demo'd a ~400 sq ft covered patio. It had carpet inside that was a PITA to get up, even though the stuff was probably 30 years old.

The concrete looks like **** and I was wondering about what would be the best way to clean the concrete? Thinking about maybe a floor scrubber or grinder like prepping for epoxy, but worried it may gum up the grinder or sanding disc. Any suggestions?

some random ideas here:

gasoline and a large scrapper (lighter optional)...?

heat gun and scrapper (safer option)

media blasting

tile

I would also guess that it would gum up a sander...good luck

I had carpet g;ued to my front porch when I bought the place. I tried about every type of scrubber pad from sand paper to scotchbrite type. None of them worked, and the sand paper left some marks up my leg when the buffer got away from me.

I tried various chemicals and finally had luck with the glue remover that is specifically made for pulling it up. Its expensive and requires lots of manual labor but it did do the job. Buy the floor scraper that allows you to stand up

I have similar problem. Would the diamabrush mastic remover leave a surface that is good enough for a garage or would it need further refining.
