Removing drawers on Mac & Snap On Boxes

I've got a Mac Tools 10 draw top box & a Snap On 3 Draw step up box, both of which are quite old & were bought 2nd hand.

I've bought a new Britool 3 draw section to go underneath the Mac Tool box. Since the box is full to brimming with tools, I'll need to empty it in order to lift it & get the new one underneath. Rather than empty each draw individually, is it possible to pull out the drawer off the runner sections, leaving the tools inside & saving me having to reorganise them?

They're ball bearing runners if that makes a difference. I'll take pics of the Mac & the Snap On type tonight 'cos it'll be good to know how to do this on the other box too since I've got some tidying to do

The one in the top pic is easy you just pop the spring clip on each side and the drawer will slide right out. The other one I'm not quite sure about, I would guess there is a realese in the front of the slider.

Do not takes the drawers out of the Snap-On box. I know it's a pain in the **** to pull all of the tools out to move it, but either do that or just have it loaded onto a rollback wrecker without removing the tools.

Snap-On's are the best thing going when it comes to durability and weight capacity, but you will lose all the ball bearings if you pull the drawers. There's nothing holding them in on the KRA- and KRL- series boxes.

A guy at work had to get new sliders on 2/3 of his drawers because he was short enough bearings to cause problems after pulling the drawers to move it twice.

Oops. Just noticed you're just putting them on TOP of another box in the same garage. That should be fine, just be careful not to tip or shake the snappy box. I'll leave my previous reply up as a warning to other Snappy owners.

Your picture is a little blurry but it looks like it's the same as my snap on box. On my box the runners have tabs that fit into slots in the drawer.
Take the small screws out at the front of the runners then lift the drawer straight up off of the runner.

Snap On drawers come out very easily and there is no problem with bearing falling out unless something is wrong with the slide. I've owned various models for over 25 years and this has never even been a consideration. Think about it the best box on the market and the drawers don't come out? Doesn't make much sense. It requires a very thin piece of metal that has a slight bend on the end of it, it then is inserted behind the clasp and the drawer just pulls out. This tool looks like a feeler gage. Any Snap On dealer will be able to get you these removal tools.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I'll give it a go this evening.
I'm only desperate to pull the drawers out of the Mac box at the moment, so I'll try that 1st.
