Removing filings from magnetized hex drivers

I'm building a new shop and have been using a lot of those self-tapping screws. Some of the electrical boxes require a vertical screw into steel beneath a steel shelf. I get about 3 screws in and the magnetized socket seems to collect all the fillings and won't take another until I dig it out. Maybe I just need a stronger magnet to **** out the steel .

Since most steel buildings essentially go together with these screws, and with a hex driver on a drill, I'll bet someone out there knows a really neat trick to clean out my drivers.

I'm thinking if you get those particles moving fast enough, they should unhook themselves from the magnet. My first impulse would be to stick a little red straw in there from a can of pressurized carb cleaner and squirt them out. Have something over your eyes though!

Try wrapping some duct tape on a screw (or anything pointed) & stick into end of the driver, pull the trigger................this should remove most of the shavings
