Removing paint from basement floor

I have a co-worker who is in the beginning stages of finishing her basement. Her plans are to remove the paint that is currently on the floor and then stain the concrete. She is concerned about the fumes from traditional paint strippers because she has children and pets.

She has already tried a product made by Franmar which is a soy based product but it didn't work. I told her that she would be okay if she just opened the windows in the basement and but fans in them to blow the fumes out but she wasn't too crazy of the idea. Does anyone have a solution on how to easily remove the paint and do it in the safest way possible? Thanks!

Rent a floor grinder. Diamond plates will strip the floor in a few hours. Remember to find one with the vac system. Cost for the day will be under 400 and you will be staining that evening

So the diamond blade won't ruin the finish of the floor?

Yep, grinding may be your best bet. the soy gels, beenie do's are expensive and theres a talent to make them work.

Rent you a stand up 7 or 10" grinder with at least a 12 segment "turbo" cup. The double or single row segemnt cup grinders are way too aggressive.
