Removing paint From Vinyl

I have a nice shop stool that I picked up a while back. I think it came out of a dental office. Its older. Very heavy and seems good quality. it has a black vinyl seat but has paint splatter on it. What can I use that will remove the paint but not hurt the vinyl. If I could clean that up it would look nearly new.

I've never used it but I would try Goo Gone. I wouldn't think mineral spirits would hurt it.

That will take off old dried paint?

Did you try scraping it off with your fingernail? Depending on the paint, it may not be stuck on that hard.

I've had good luck with Goo gone or Oops. Actually the Oops seemed to work a little better on old drips.

If it is latex paint isopropyl alcohol will cut it, but get 91%, not 50%. Be sure to test any solvent in an inconspicous place first.

I have both of those I will give it a try.
