Removing & reinstalling Metal siding?

Has anyone, I am sure someone has, Removed the metal siding from their pole barn and then put it back on. Basically I am considering removing the panels wrapping with tyvek then reinstalling the panels... Is this something that is easy to do with very basic skills or is this a huge job that is not easy at all? Good news for this is the panels are screwed on not nailed. and the portion I am talking about is 1 story about 8 ft tall.

if you have done this how many people does it take to do this and do you have a time frame idea on what it would take to do. 3 wall 24 ft long and 8 ft tall. the only issue I might have is the panel that the power goes in through not sure how I would do that.

Would be doing this so I can insulate properly with out spray foam but am not sure if it would be worth it in savings compared to the time/energy to remove and reinstall.

When Mullers farm moved out around 20 yrs ago, they took down 2 pole barns, roof, siding, 4x12 panels, siding, poles, etc. and moved them around 25 miles and reconstructed them. So it's possible, just takes a few folks and time!

Ive done it many times. Pretty straight forward. Ive been told you should replace the screws. They make screws that are larger in diameter so they pull tight again. Just number the panels and re install the same way. You will still have to check the run out of the panels. If they start getting crooked it turns into a fight to get back square.

Sounds no more complicated than removing nearly all the "metal tiles" from one face of my Decra metal tile roof to install solar mounting brackets. I simply grabbed a Ziploc bag, a sharpie, and my cordless drill. Started running the screws out, numbering and lettering each tile. Removed about 160 tiles in all. Be sure to use a "guaranteed forever" socket in your drill. The job will ruin the socket...

Your "tiles" are simply larger than my tiles.

Plan on also putting in rat guard if I can find any at the same time if not that then Z channel. Any good places online to buy it? or around my area? I can't seem to find one.

Yeah thinking about replacing the screws they are 20 years old and if I am taking them out might as well make sure the ones I put in are going to last.

Yes, replace all the screws, the screws are probably ok but the sealing washer, having been compressed and aged is more, the reason to replace the screws

I already have all the Fiberglass insulation I need in rolls and the walls are already framed for it. I just don't have a good feeling about putting the Fiberglass insulation against the metal if it gets wet it will hold it on all the wood framing.

I looked some information up on prices for the Tyvek and then the 6 mil vapor barrier I will spend around $400 vs the 2,000 for spray foam. the fact that I have a bunch of insulation new and unused is making it so much cheaper to do the shop is swaying me. That and I hope to sell the property in ~5 years and have a home build that I design.

the amount of insulation you get from the metal siding insulation isn't as much as I want either. We had it in there prior to mice issue and it helped but wasn't good enough for the office portion.

Some part of me still wants spray foam but I am having a hard time justifying the cost difference with the idea that we are planning on selling. Now if we end up not selling I think I'm going to kick myself. (where is my crystal ball when I need it!)

also the shop is 20 yrs old not sure if spry foam at this point is the best option because of the buildings age.
