Removing scratches from inspection camera lens

I have the Harbor Freight inspection camera. It actually worked well until the lens got pretty severely scratched. It's only about 5/16" diameter.

Any suggestions for a scratch remover? I've heard toothpaste or a paste of baking soda work well. Was also considering the liquid polish like they use on car lens or maybe even one of those kits and buff it.

Thanks.

Isnt it glass? You're kind of screwed if it is unless they offer parts, which is rare. Just buy another, cheap enough and it would of broken eventually (they seem to last 2-3 years at most in a shop). Not a bad idea to have a back-up unit.

I can't tell if it's glass or plastic but I assume plastic. Just seems such a waste to toss it already. Figured I have nothing to lose by trying.

Maybe try a product used for removing scratches from head lights? maybe worth a shot. I use Meguiars Plastx to remove scratches and slag etc from the lens of my welding helmet and have also used it on safety glasses to remove light scratches with good results.

i was gonna suggest the 3m headlight restoration kit.. if the scratches are just light try their plastic polish.. if you dont wan spend any money, and you have a buffer with a foam pad you can try toothpaste..

i have the professional 3m headlight kit. i bought it before everyone and their mother came out with a kit just to try and make a little extra money.. works really good. i did the plastic cluster cover on my old f350 and it took everything out.
