Shellac is easy. Denatured alcohol. Pour it on. Let it soak a bit. Wipe off with medium to fine steel wool and paper towels. Wet a paper towel to wipe it down again. Good to go. Nice thing about shellac is that if you have a few heavy traffic areas, you can clean those up with the same technique, recoat, and it will all blend in.

are you sure it is shellac??? Prospector has the process....you might double check or identify what is on your floors.
