Reno Ramp-K Transition for tile

I am using Reno Ramp-K for my garage tile transition, and have looked at the Schluter installation video. They seem to **** the tile right up to the ramp with no grout/silicone joint. Is this the best practice for a garage floor transition?

Also, I am using a custom grout color, and the only color matched caulk is not 100% silicone caulk. The description from the company is:

"CURECAULK is a superior quality siliconized acrylic latex caulk that is mold and mildew resistant. The product forms a long-lasting, flexible, water tight seal that will resist cracking on most building materials, including glass, wood, ceramic, metal and stone.

Will this be adequate for garage floor use? Tile to lift transition, drains, perimeter joints?

Thanks,
WS

I highly suggest in adding at least a 1/8" joint when using the Reno Ramp K. This will ensure that water or snow melt doesn't find its way under the tiles or ramp causing any issues ie: like popping tiles in a freeze/thaw situation.

As for the caulking, the acrylic latex caulk might last or it might not. Lots of factors will determine how long it will last. But ideally 100% Silicone would offer maximum protection.

Take a look at this site. http://colorriteinc.com/home

The schluter profile has built into it a nub the won't let you **** tight to it and it naturally creates a small grout joint. So, just push the tile tight and grout the small almost 1/8" joint.

Are you mixing your own grout to get a custom color? There are like a billion grout colors available it's a little surprising you can't find what you want.

Silicon caulk will last longest but still, all caulk will need to be replaced at some point.
