Repaint or custom boot impact

I have 1” impact wrench that looks tired should I repaint it or has anyone ever made a custom protective boot.

It’s a Chicago pneumatic cp7782. Originally red in color

I can’t locate a boot for it - so I was thinking of making one out of leather possibly

I could repaint red or use a bed liner type product

Other ideas?

Leather would be kinda cool. Sort of thing my former B-i-L would do. He's always making grips for his bows & now uses leather from bizarre animals

Leather? Hmmmm.......that is a superb idea! Leather is incredibly strong and feels amazing in the hand. It would look amazing when it is all stitched up, although it would probably be pricey if you were able to find someone that has the skills to do this. I would love to see this.

I have an old (probably 50 years or more) CP 734 impact that has had a leather boot
from when it was new..... Boot was well oiled from normal use and still looks good today...
