I'm guessing that, like me, there are people out there who give something a go, it doesn't work out, and they don't really want to post about it.
BUT - there's as much to be learned from what doesn't work as what does. So here's one for you:

Snap-On soft grip handles that have come loose do not regain their shape by heating in water.
I think it was worth a try. I had a snappy stubby ratchet screwdriver with a loose grip.
I have seen lots of YouTube postings about refreshing / tightening up silicone products (e.g. phone cases) by heating in a boiling waterbath for 1min, then cooling.
I tried this. I was diligent.
It didn't work.
