Repairing Snap-On cordless?

So the brushes on my cordless 14.4 screwdriver is burnt, snap-on repairs will be about 75 bucks. I am wondering if i can repair it for cheaper elsewhere?

Some other details

-bought on ebay "used in good condition", accidentally left good feedback
-taken apart screwdriver, not certain how to proceed with motor
-household user, no truck guy

I paid $70 for the broken one, if i send it in like your friend it would cost me $100 so that would be $170 so far. And my screwdriver is Pink (i bought it for that reason mainly), I would prefer to find a way/person to repair less than what Snap-On said.

Brushes are easy to replace. You can get generic brushes at a hardware or vacuum store. Adjust them to fit by rubbing them on sandpaper on a flat surface.

In most of the Snap-on cordless motors the brushes are not replaceable...that means you have to replace the whole motor when they go bad.

Send it in. Snap-On will make it right.No matter what. That's why guys pay the $$ for their stuff.It's like buying a Rolls.They wont say you slammed the door too hard. They make it right.

Plus when you send it in to snapon they give you a 3 ,moth warranty.

Snap on uses a flat rate repair cost. For the price snappy quotes you, they are rebuilding the item making the entire tool like new.

This is correct, however I have replaced them in the CT4410A impact and had success, but you have to bend the tabs out and solder the wires from the brushes to them and bend them back down. Not sure what model you have as you're calling it a screwdriver. I'm not aware of a 14.4 volt screwdriver that they offer. You can also buy the parts from Snappy on the internet, shipping is free. Motors for the 4410 series impacts run around 60 bucks.

i noticed the color guns they dont replace the housing. on the red guns they did or that was the case for me
