Forgive me if my search efforts overlooked something obvious.
My Husky air compressor at home stopped holding pressure. There is a leak at the bottom near the drain fitting. It appears to be rusted through from the inside.
I did a car repair today without air tools, rather than risk a compressor tank failure. I didn't want to assume that the leak would just get bigger, rather than grenading the tank.
This stems from occasional home use and being lazy about draining the tank.
The compressor & motor work just fine. It looks like a replacement tank from CH (Maker of this Husky compressor) would cost about double the price of a new compressor.
It pains me to think that a non-moving part can't be replaced cheaper than buying a whole new compressor. A used tank seems like a crapshoot.
Am I missing an obvious solution?
Thanks
