I have several drills, angle grinders, etc. that do not have cases. Does anyone know of a source for generic ones? I would prefer metal, but plastic might work too.

McMaster-Carr sells a variety: Stands, Cases and Cabinets for Taps and Drill Bits
Huot (the brand in tarbellb's link) is a good manufacturer to search for: Drill, Tap, Reamer Indexes
