Hi All,

I have a chance to get a craftsman tool box for free. But without the handle. Is it worth trying to source another handle and replace it? The box seems in good shape and the lid has the place where the handle fits into but it is like it broke in half and they just removed it.

For the money I would take it. But I wouldn't care that the handle was gone, I would fab something up to work and throw my **** in it.

Thanks folks, I think I will take it now that I can get a handle for it-thanks to lilredex. If it is the right size I think I will use it in my Model A for tools.

Update.

I got the box for a great price! And it is not in that bad of shape. I am guessing it is a late 60's early 70's era box. God knows what the black goo on the bottom is. So I may try my hand at restoring this one. Although I like the patina, it shows that it was a worker. Just need to order a handle for it.

Sears sells the parts still. I bought latches for mine made circa 1980.
