Anyone replace any of the normal incandescent type bulbs in their favorite flashlights with a new LED bulb made to fit? If so, what would you recommend and how much would one of those cost?

I have some ryobi 18v cordless lights I'd like to upgrade if not too terrible to do it. thx- Paul

Maglite makes replacement LED bulbs. You choose the bulb depending on how many batteries the flashlight takes. They should fit just about any flashlight that uses the flanged bulb.

As for the cordless tool kit flashlights you may be out of luck unless the manufacturer offers an LED replacement. 18v is not a common voltage in lighting.

I believe this will work for you....make sure you select the right voltage.

Thanks all - good starting points for me. I also have some more traditional lights, so the maglite method might be good for those. The superbrightled one says it will handle the 18 volts. That might be real good for the cordless. Anyone actually ever do that to a cordless OR use the superbrightled products? That would be helpful. - Paul

Also check eBay for drop in replacements. I've had lots of problems with superbrightLED's products. I bought a lot of LED car bulbs from them, and about 80% of them have started flickering or gone out completely in less than a year. eBay is hit or miss but I've only have about a 20% failure rate.

Thanks all. Looks like that NUTTSGT thread is more about a xenon and not an led replacement. I was hoping superbrightled would be ok since this seems to be the only one I've found that would work with an 18 volt light like the Ryobi ones. - Paul
