I was moving some stuff around by the Shop yesterday and backed the Skidsteer into the Front Bumper on my 2013 GMC Sierra (HD). I don't usually repair Vehicles but looking at this, it seems pretty straightforward? Does anyone have or know of good places to get replacement parts like this? I haven't been to an old fashioned Vehicle Junkyard in 10 years, so that is an exploratory option? Do they still let you walk around to pick and pull the parts you want?

while you are on the phone with them ask if they have your bumper in inventory
some yards know, in detail, what is out there

Go to car-part.com or get their app. Put in your location and see who near you has one and how much they want for it.

Try online ordering for an aftermarket replacement.....a lot of good quality pieces can be had as cheap as a junkyard piece.

Lots of times a dealership will match AM parts prices.

From my experience MOST aftermarket parts, included plated ones are garbage

LKQ/Keystone does have the best warranty on their parts if the chrome starts to (when it starts to) go bad.

You might be surprised at how affordable a new one from the dealer is. Check the prices on one of the online dealers like gmpartsgiant.com and see if your local dealer will match. I just bought a new back bumper for my 99 Tahoe from the dealer after some idiot ran into me. Fortunately his insurance is paying but they wanted to use aftermarket. Th GM one was not much more and since I am doing the work myself its a wash and I get a GM part. The aftemarket ones are typically not as good material and might have fit problems.

I've tried a few in the area (I live in the Bay, just south of you). None were too fond of the idea of folks walking in the yard and though it's been a few months since I hit any up, they didn't have much newer stuff sitting around. They just wanted to know what you wanted and a contact number if they had it or found it. I did have luck with the folks at LKQ in Milwaukee for a few parts I needed to source. There site also has a vehicle inventory and parts list/cost. They also have a location close to the same distance in Rockford and a few more closer to Chi Town...but who really wants to go to IL these days.

If new is your flavor they run ~$220 for a new OEM, depending on your trim level. Not too outrageous for a bumper you shouldn't have to worry about the chrome on for years.

Good luck.

Try and find local. OEM is best. I ordered a new front bumper for a Nissan NV2500 and when it came it the shipper had dropped it hard on the left side and folded it in. And the right side had a wrinkle in it. The company said throw it away and they send a replacement. No problems the second time.

There's still a couple U-pull-and-pay junk yards around me, but there's others that won't let you out in the yard.

I would just as soon get the Bumper from the local Dealer if the price was matched to online as I know it would fit and last.
I found a website called "gmpartsdirect.com" that has the Bumper for around $250.
If this is a legit GM Parts Supplier, then I may use them depending on the Shipping?

Yes it is, not sure that can go UPS, if it ships Freight the cost will be high.

QUOTE: "How bad is it? I have had pretty good success hammering them back out, even chrome ones."

Right in the center of the air flow opening it buckled the lower U shaped piece and ripped the "steel" where it joins the face. I started removing it late yesterday. It is bad enough that I don't believe it will unbuckle the bend without cracking more at the ripped spot. Its a time issue also.

Been thinking about the Shipping cost , mentally add that to what maybe or maybe not the price match from the local GM Dealer?
Then order it and be done with it. I have 2 Service calls for today already and don't want to have this dominate my time.
