Picked up a bottom roller cab on sunday for $100 bucks. Drawers and cab are in good shape but the sliders are pretty worn. Couple need replacing so I think I will replace them all.

Whats the best way to go about this? I dont have a snap on truck near by. Order online? I couldn't find a data tag plate or any model numbers on the box itself.

Well, that was a good deal. Should be a KR657, 33" wide, all ball bearing. They still make the slides, or a set of slides that fit that box, don't know the number off the top of my head. Downside is you have to drill out the rivets to remove the old slides and they were one piece. Check the back, upper half of the box, it will be stamped. Late 80's to early 90's box. Where did you find it? Did they have the top box?

Ill check for stamped numbers tonight. Looking at the sliders it looks like they are just bolted to the box. Not sure how the sliders are attached to the drawers themselves. I didnt have time to look yesterday.

No top box, previous owner bought it for cheap years ago and just upgraded to a bigger box.

The drawers are bolted and locked into the front of the slides, but the main body of the slides are riveted into the sides of the box. The rivet heads need to be drilled and then the slides will unlock and lift out. Those early ball bearing slides were not two pieces like most of the modern ones. Member TerryH on here did a nice writeup on replacing the slides for that box.

If they are the Accuride slides like in my 1989 KR1000 they are not riveted in. They are bolted to the drawers, then lift off the drawers and body. If they are Accuride, you will need to go through them, which is good because technically the SO slides are only warrantied to original owner, plus Accuride has OUTSTANDING customer service. They needed a pic of my slides then shipped out bumps for all of them with no issues.

ill take a picture of the slides on both the box and the drawer tonight. I think some of them will work fine if i degrease them and relube them but some of them are starting to lose the end ball bearing and since its still empty id rather replace them all and keep a couple good ones as spares.

Do you have a link for TerryH's thread? I scrolled through all the treads he started and didn't see anything for slide replacement.
