Tapping the hive mind--can anyone recommend a good supplier?

I lost the window out of the back of my cap from a tree this winter, and already need to replace the slider window.

I wouldn't fuss with it except it is for a fairly rare size--Gen 1 Tundra with an 8' box, so replacement caps are thin on the ground.

Windows are generic. Tough part is finding the correct replacement. I just googled, replacement topper windows. The front has angled sides I'm sure. Take your time measuring. I needed a front window with a slider. Was easy to swap. Then, same thing happened, tree branch broke a frameless side window. Cost me $100 for each window. Changed them myself. Easy!! CA not remember who I bought through. Was 7 yrs ago!

a full service glass shop should be able to do this. Might be a few bucks, ours can even do bevels, cabinet and table glass. Composites as well.

If you have one fabricated, you might consider using Polycarbonate, the generic name for Lexan. That is often used for glazing windows that are exposed to vandalism. I have seen Baseball Bats bounce off from display windows made from it.

Usually, the manufacturer of the cap can furnish replacement hardware and/or glass.

Yeah, the manufacturer of mine is long gone.

Thanks all--I'll probably template them and shop around.

The idea of replacing them with Lexan is a good one--that I could do myself if I find a source for that. I actually don't care if the slider from cab to box works or not (never used it)--just wanted a covered box again, once I finish some landscaping that is backed up.

We've got a good local dealer for caps (and parts)--but when I priced just the slider window (which was the first to go)--it was more than what I paid for the cap--and I'm pretty sure that I would probably be looking at double that for both--not really worth it.

I did see a good deal on a replacement truck complete with cap--that seems like a way to short circuit the whole thing!
