replacing incandescents with flouresents

Currently have 4 150w incandescents. I want to put in some t8 4 tube lights to replace them. Quick math- 4 tubes @ 32w = 128 watts (less than existing). Am I missing something like start up draw or is this going to work?

Not sure what you're asking....circuit loading? light output? :dunno:

Your math is right....no surprises.....those 4 tubes will put out the same light....if not a bit more and 1/5th the energy......and you won't have to change bulds nearly as much....in fact, you should get about 10-15x the life.....

You need to include the ballast loss in your figures, 4-lamp T8 ballasts are about 1 ampere each @ 120V, but some are as much as 1.6A each.

If I understand this 4 32watt tubes + the ballast would draw more than the
existing 150w incandescent bulb?
Not looking to save energy- just don't want to overload the circuit. It currently has 4 150 w clear incandescents @110volts on it & I want to put 4 -4 tube
flourescents (32w per tube) in their place. also 110 volts.

Any chart or something I can refer to?
