Replacing Milwaukee brush card?

I have an older Milwaukee impact driver 2650 that I bought real cheap cause previous owner said he had to bop the side cause it would quit running. I took it apart and seems like I could just replace the brush card. I have not done a repair like this, is it worth it? Is it pretty straight forward? Thanks!

It should be easy enough. I looked online and it appears you can buy the genuine Milwaukee brush assembly for less than $10, or off brand ones for even less, from a variety of suppliers.

Should be pretty straight forward, de-solder the two wires and solder the new card in. I have a Milwaukee cordless drill that needs the same thing, but haven't got around to it yet. A soldering station would really be the best tool to use, but you could solder the wires with a gun too, just don't leave it on long. Soldering wick would also come in handy to clean the connection the wires are soldered to.
