I will have pics of my new place in a few days as I organize but I had a quick question. My place is a stick built 24x36x10 with standard trusses. Has anyone replaced trusses in an existing building with scissor? I think I need 4 in each bay to get the width I need for a 4 post lift. Not sure of the pitch. It's not very steep. Thanks

Matt

I converted a flat ceiling to a sloped ceiling by sistering new trusses to the old trusses. The new trusses had the webs in the same location as the old and came in two pieces with a plywood splice detial. After sistering, nailing, and splicing, the old truss was chain sawed out. Old and new trusses were by the same company and they provided the engineering.

Just make sure you fasten the top chords tight to each other.

Your roof sheeting will have joints centered on the current truss.
You will want to keep those joints well supported.
