Ok so it's not in the garage but the frame of the new window was built in my garage. A large part on this little craftsman table saw.

In my house a previous owner had installed some vinyl windows. The other two are mostly the correct proportion but this one was hard to even look at. It has bothered me for quite a while because it is so far off from the original. It looks very out of place.

I have kept an eye out for the last year and a few months ago spotted this on Facebook, almost an exact match for my original. After talking with the guy it was the correct dimensions and was in good condition. The casing was gone, the jamb was pretty repairable but was not the correct depth for my wall. I ended up making a whole new casing, jamb and stops. The old sill was reused. I also stripped, reglazed and painted the originals sashes. The casing is still in primer but it already looks much better!

As a window professional...nicely done. Great work saving and reusing the decorative glass...and from the distance taken it looks great and with the porch covering it should provide years of good service when maintained properly.

A decent vinyl windows has its place....but agree that it didn't look right in your application!
