Is it possible to be notified when someone responds to your post?

If I post something in a thread and someone replies to what I said I would not know unless I subscribed to that thread. I do not want to be rude and not acknowledge someones comments but I might miss. Do I have to subscribe to every thread I post in to see if someone replied?

On other forums I get an email whenever someone replies to a post I made automatically.

Maybe this already exists and I just haven't figured it out yet.

PS. Thanks for hosting a great forum

When you create a thread there is a drop-down menu with notification levels that you can pick. However, it will only email you when the first reply is posted & none afterwards until you read the replies (logged in) & then it will email the next time someone posts a reply, repeat cycle.

I understand when I create a thread but what about when I reply inside a current thread. For instance how will you know that I am responding to your post above unless you subscribed to this thread.

It would be nice if I hit the reply button to your last comment you were alerted so you would know someone has responded to something you posted. That is how it works on other forums but I do not think this one is set up to do that.

Not quite answering your question here...but if you post a thread asking for advice, it's a good thing to hang around online for awhile to reply to any posts asking you for further info to try and help you.

It always kills me when someone starts a thread asking for help, leaves out a lot of pertinent info, then never comes back in and responds to any of the posts.

I agree 100% I have begun to use the subscribe button on any thread I start.

I sure would like to know when someone responds to a comment I made in a thread I did not start.
