Hey,

I'm new here so I'm not totally sure how things work as far as what I can do as a "new guy"...

I'm trying to PM a member about a Classifieds post but nothing is showing up in my "sent" box under my profile.

I tried to post a reply to the original Classifieds post but get a message saying "you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:"

Anyone have any ideas?

I'd really like to connect with the user "piston farmer"

Thanks in advance

Scott

If you go to your "User CP", click on "EDIT Options".

Under the "Messaging & Notification" section, do you have the following check marked ?

_ Enable Private Messaging

_ Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default

Hi,
I am also a newbie and this is the first time I have been able to post.

My reason for joining this forum, which I have visited many times, is to help find/share vintage tools.
However, I was surprised to see that I need 100 (gasp!!!:eyecrazy:) posts before I can start a thread!!!
Have I got that right? 100 posts before I can put my sell/swap/trade/wanteds threads up?

What an arduous start!

Looking for Circle H craftsman sockets.

Yes, I know this is a bit of a hijack. What else would you suggest I do?
Unless I missed something? Open to suggestions.

Have a nice day.
Sam.

Hi Sam,
If you participate in other areas of the forum you will soon find you have 100 posts.
The rule came about because many abused the forum or tried to scam others so you can blame them. 100 posts with other topics also shows you are willing to join in and be part of the GJ family by contributing to what we all enjoy. Do not post just to get the your post numbers up as that will not go over well either.

Thank you for this. I was sitting here wondering why I couldn't view any of my sent messages...
