The more I look at the new large Vulcan welding cabinet from HF the more I see my next auto-body/detailing cart.
Some mods I would make:
1) Thick wooden top to bring the flat surface just below the metal rim leaving just enough of a lip to keep a replaceable sheet of hardboard in place.
a) Additional thick rubber sheet that I can lay on the top for when I need a non-slip surface when working on larger sheet metal parts, stainless trim etc.
2) Add a wood workers type clamp on the flat non-drawer side.
3) Add a HF side drawer cabinet on the left bottle side facing rearward for my hammers and dollies, etc.
4) Add a few brackets to hold various clamps, air/whip hose, smaller pry bars etc.
The cabinets top draw would hold small rivets, Cleco fasteners, pin welder rivets, ect.
The middle and lower drawers for specialty tools like the pin welder, clamps, etc.
The large open space under the drawers could easily hold body fillers and hardeners
.
The larger cabinet would be used for cleaners, waxes, claybar, micro towels, and various other detailing items.
I would be able to move it around the shop or outside as needed while freeing up space against the wall for another work bench or machinery.
