I bought a pair of these heavy steel speaker stands a few years ago and they've been sitting in my garage since. since I was cleaning the garage i got the idea to use one as a pedestal for my new to me dayton buffer. The stand has a nice wide steel plate at the bottom, I may bolt it to the ground. It was an excuse to use my milwaukee fuel hammer drill so I was happy. also got to use the milwaukee thunderbolt drill bits that were on special at home depot. They went through the top steel plate like it was butter. I think it came out pretty decent. I still have to mount the switch to the base. I might use the other one for a grinder.
