Repurposed auto/truck parts

In the last month I completed two different projects using parts off of an old ford truck and an old chevy. The first is a bench and the second is wall art and holds two speakers in my garage. If you have done something similar please add them to this thread.

Do you have the sections of the chain tack welded to hold their shape ?

if you don't want to weld them (dont know if he did or not) a hardened punch and a hammer at the pins on the back would make them stick enough to hold a shape. you hit the area next to the pin to pinch the chain some, do it on a piece of wood to keep from scratching up the opposite surface.

to " blaperle" the love the idea of the clock, thanks for sharing, now that it has patina are you going to clear coat it?

I don't think so, you can see where I cleaned some of the heavy rust with a wire wheel and at that point I decided to leave it be and coated it with wd40

guess that would retain heat for a while when off!!! i know they are still hot hrs after the last braking!!! how did you cut holes in it for the pipe and fueling it?
