Repurposed - Dell server rack

These things are built like tanks and incredibly thought out.

Grabbed this Dell (forget the actual mfg) for $50

Scored the rack, a bunch of built in slides (HD 200lbs+) and 2 surge protectors

But what I really wanted it for was my modular small parts bins, Husky 10 bins from Home Depot are my favorite and plan to keep adding to the collection.

Chopped 13" out the middle, rewelded w added supports, fiberglass L brackets for org bins, and a pull out shelf for going through bin and reloading.

Holds 32 boxes now!

That's a Dell 4210 42U, 42" deep server rack, capable of supporting about 3500 pounds (probably less now) when the support feet are screwed down.

Interesting usage. I have about 4 of these I need to get rid of actually...

Good to know, its clearly a nice product. Everything is thoughtfully designed.

I did reinforce all my welds with 1/8" plate or tube. Theres no way these cases are exceeding 3500lbs.

Wish I was closer to OH...

I took a smaller rack and made an ammo storage locker out of it. I use to build these with AV gear for a living. Cannot even think of how many I built over 29 years.

secrets out... if you have these cabinets advertise them as solar rack mount battery racks. The trend for batteries is moving to rackmount telecommunication style batteries.
