Lol I only have 5 hammers myself. 8, 16, 32oz deadblow ballpein, 2 soft headed hammers, and my BFH sledge.
You don't need that many hammers really. Plus a good air hammer works better in some situations.
That's pretty much what I was getting at. I noticed there were no crow's feet, S wrenches, flare nut, air hammer. No mic or caliper? These things I would expect every pro mech would have anyway.IMHO what the advanced weekender/DIY guy has in his garage will "get you by" working on forklifts, and a lot of compact const eq.
the need isnt so much for bigger wrenches/ sockets, tools for extremely limited access spots.
there are times that the only thing i need to use is a 9/16" socket, ratchet, and an allen wrench, or a filter wrench, couple 7/8" comb wrenches, and a screwdriver.
then there are those "other days" .....
couple of the const eq dealers i've worked at had a required tool list, but hey didnt require anything much bigger than 1 1/4" wrenches or sockets.
I haven't had that one weird bolt location that forced me to get crow's foot or S wrench sets yet, so I didn't really know how universal the need is for the home garage. Didn't want to find out the hard way I should have had them the whole time, you know?

I bought a set of crow's foot wrenches 30 years ago and have yet to find a need to use them. What a waste of money.

IMHO crowsfeet, moon wrenches, s wrenches and flare nut wrenches/crowsfeet are the kinds of tools you kinda figure out you need when nothing elseworks.
i've been wrenching on const eq since '84 i have 1 moon wrench i bought to bend for a real PITA bolt inside a transmission housing, flare nut wrenches/ crowsfeet and line sockets were accumulated over the years for specific tasks.
i've been finding single SK, proto, and truck branded flarenut wrenches in the pawn shops for under $5, so i've been "collecting" more and more of them
i bought my crowsfeet as i needed them, 7/8" to 1 1/2".
they get used with an long extension for hyd hoses and tubelines in inaccessable places.
i've figured out i'll never have every tool i should have, but i come pretty close most of the time.
it just takes years to accumulate a huge "collection" of tools, i've been buying tools since i was a senior in HS, in '76
Crowfoots are a horrible excuse for a socket or a wrench.
If you work on Linde's I feel sorry for you, we have 2 for our warehouse and they are always getting serviced.
Automotive mechanics, its not what you know it's how many tools the SNAP OFF guy has convinced you to buy. My brothers a 1st yr auto mech and he has to have around 12000- 15000 dollars worth of tools, he upgraded from lube tech (oilchanges, filters, headlights, windsheild wipers etc), as a lube tech the FORD service dept supplied everything.
