Had this Ryobi battery light for a few years. It finally got dropped on its head one too many times. Surprisingly, even though it was “structurally unsound” ( smashed all to hell), it still worked.
I bought a replacement in December, which had a short life. Last week it was still hanging from the front spring of a VW when the car backed out of my shop. “WTF won’t the wheel turn left?” “ Because my light is still in there!” No real damage, but something must have gotten squeezed. The light would turn on, but barely glowed. So, I ordered another new one.
This afternoon, I carefully disassembled both the smashed one, and the dimmed out one. I mixed and matched parts, and wound up with a functioning light, a pile of plastic scrap, and a few useable pieces.
