I mean rescued....
Just found this bench vise. I think its pretty old. No name I can find. Only has a stamp, looks like 131A and 131B. Any ideas what it could be? Maybe gonna recondition/ paint it, not sure.

One very nice clean vise. That vise almost looks like a miniature. How long is it?

Looks like ~3" jaw width? Based on the last pics, is that a gloved hand? Unless those hands are gigantic I don't think it is 8" jaw width. :dunno:

Oh no no...lol
I measured it today. jaw width is 3" and total length front to back closed is 12". It's a small one, but I like it....

That vise looks to have the profile of a Rock Island but its hard to say. The only consistent thing i've seen with vises made by Rock Island for hardware store retailers, meaning no markings to indicate RI manufacture, is a small "x" stamped into the cheek of the dynamic jaw. I could be wrong but it looks like a Rock Island vise and that mark will prove it 100%

I second that motion. It's a Rock Island for sure the numbers on the back give it away and with the meaty stout profile.
