Resealing Hydraulic Cylinders

I'm working on a 2 post lift cylinder. It came off a Forward lift and the cylinder retracts when it lifts, so It is a single acting cylinder. Question is about the wiper seal on the gland cap and what direction does it go? The rod seal (if thats right term) has a c-shape and the open end goes toward the pressure. I'm just not sure about the wiper seal. Thanks

Every wiper seal I’ve ever seen or installed faces away from pressure as the rod retracts it “wipes” the debris off
