Hi - I'm going to be replacing the motor on my belt-driven compressor. Relatively small - 1HP, 56 frame. I'm seeing both rigid and resilient mounted motors. Is one preferable over the other? :dunno:

I would think that the rigid base mount would be for use in an industrial environment where noise is not a large issue. If for home use, I would probably choose the resilient base as it would be somewhat quieter.

For a small motor like that, a resilient mount is the way to go. You'll get a longer life out of your belt, your hardware, and your mount.
