Hi I’m sandi I’m new a single retired newbie at resin. I thought you’all might know how to remove resin from painters tape? It’s about 3 hours into it at the moment and I’m thinking I taped up what I didn’t want resin on my projects, but how and when do I remove the tape? I’m up for awhile if anyone’s on here now thx

Hi Sandi,
Don't know that I'm an expert but have used some poly resin in the past. It's been my experience that acetone will soften/remove resin before it has cured. Once cured I think you're left with removal by mechanical means... either a blade or abrasive. Guess it wouldn't hurt to try acetone to see if it would soften it but, IIRC, it wont.
What sort of project are you working on?

Sandi, I have found that cellophane packing tape may work better than painters. I don’t pull tape right away. Sometimes resin will ooze/run until it sets up. A shot of heat can help soften cured resin.
Are you using epoxy or polyester
