Thanks. I think this is the start if a Gulf Racing themed garage. If it wasn't so much work, I would consider doing this to my full size toolboxes.

Very very nice!! Next to British Racing green, the GT FORD colors are both my favorites. Great job with the side-box. (I think the time won't be long before your bride is helping in the garage)

She's welcome in the garage, but I do everything I can to keep her out of my toolbox.

These types of threads pop up regularly and you just never know how they are going to end. This one is killer. Nice job.
You’ve inspired me to get moving on a beat kr531 box I dragged home.

I wanted to quit several times, that is why I was posting the project, not only did it keep me motivated, but helped maintain a record of how it turned out.

I just realized a mistake I made. I should've polished the anvil portion and marked it off before painting, it's going to be hard to do as good of a job with paint all around it. Oh well.:(

Phenomenal work!

I enjoyed your rant by the way. Few of my "projects" go smoothly, there is always some challenge to overcome. That's part of the puzzle.

There was a thread on here by a guy who restores old neglected handsaws. He said something to the effect that, "I seem to be attracted to projects that require an inordinate amount of effort with little evident reward."

freudianfloyd, I have to say that when I first read that you were going to paint your box with the Gulf colors that I didn't have any faith in that idea. I shouda believed! You nailed it. Great job!

Great job on both projects! I love seeing these kind of things done. I also lose interest in projects, forget to take pictures, rush too much while finishing and any other bad habit you can think of. It’s nice to see I’m not alone, but there may be some hope for me...lol

Thank you. I can honestly say that without making the post and taking pictures, the toolbox would not have turned out as well as it did. Sandblasting the drawers took forever, and If I didnt already promise to post it all and make it as good as I could, I would've given up on them.

I’m working on a vise right now that really has me frustrated. I’m at the point of giving up, but I started posting pics and want to see it get done the right way. So I can totally relate.
