This little restoration was more of a preservation than anything since I lack the tools to do the job properly. I found this vise at a yard sale for ¢75 and spring on it.

I knocked all the rust off with a couple soft wire wheels, painted it with rustolium Flat black and oiled the handle and threads with a 3 in 1 oil. Finished product below.

Ideally I would have used electrolysis or a media cabinet to get it clean and then painted it with a period paint and baked. I'd probably straighten the handle and replace the bolts too but it was a low budget restore. I would love to know the process you guys use to restore vintage tools, I have mostly Snap-On, Matco and Case IH tools at work but at home I prefer the vintage stuff.
