I have only seen pictures but I have ran across 5 matching challenger tool boards and the guy wants 60 bucks for all of them but they have no pegs is that something that you could just get round stock and use some kind of glue to replace the pegs or do they run all the way through the board

Id want more than just glue to hold the weight of anything heavier than a screwdriver.
A close up of one of those brackets and the front of the board would help.

Well I went and got them for 30 bucks found some round stock cut them drilled the holes slightly smaller taped them in thinking bout tack welding a washer on the backside to make sure they don’t come out and gonna find little rubber caps for the ends. It may not be original but it works

Good idea on those washers cf

yeah, that could work. there weren't alot of options online, and with the amount of pegs you where going to have to make it looked like it could get costly. good luck.

You shouldn't need anything. Round stock just barely bigger than the existing holes. Sharpen one side and tap it in. Alternatively, get the right size nails and clip the heads.
