Restoring a vintage Frig

Ok , I have a 1922 GE ball top frig ( not a round top monitor ) a ball top.
From what I have been told , the refrigeration it's self is very toxic ?
But I'm not sure what it is.
So my questions are.

Does anyone know anything about this unit ?
What about the refrigeration ?
Parts , gaskets where would they be gotten .

Get a 1920s or 1930s copy of Audels Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Guide.
Maybe sulphur dioxide...

Probably ammonia. Not real pleasant either, but not as toxic as SO2.

I'll try to get some , it's sitting in the back rm of my garage waiting for restoration , which is hopefully this summer.
