I have a Rustoleum epoxy coated floor (home depot kit) in my garage and over the last few years it's taken a beating. Is there a way to restore them or refinish them to get some shine back?

I see all these nice new garage floors and it makes me jealous...

If the coating hasn't come up anywhere, you can rough it up with some 100 grit sandpaper and put down another coat or a clear coat of epoxy or polyurethane. It will bring the color and gloss right back. If the color has ambered (which these kits are known for), you can't change that unless you put down another color coat.

Color actually looks ok. Just dull. Any particular epoxies you'd suggest.

You used Rustoleum EpoxyShield Professional (solvent based) initially? Or water based? Why not go over the top with the same product you used initially?

Can't recall. It was 2 part, but I can't remember if it was water or solvent based.

I would have assumed that the coating couldn't be reapplied on top of an already applied coating.

As long as you scuff up the current coat with 100 grit sandpaper, the new coat will bond.

Sure. Quit your job, kick out the kids, send the Ms. away for a week or two. Should have plenty of time to complete the project and drink a few cases of beer.

Our SPGX clear coat can be applied over it with just running a floor buffer on it with3M type pad first to scratch it up a bit.
